Therapy Modalities
Somatic Therapy in Boulder, CO
Talking about what happened is only part of healing. Somatic therapy works with the body and nervous system — where trauma, anxiety, and chronic stress actually live.
What Is Somatic Therapy?
Somatic therapy is a body-based approach that integrates polyvagal theory, nervous system regulation, breath, movement, and present-moment body awareness. It helps you notice the sensations, tension, and impulses that talk therapy alone often misses — and gently complete the responses your body was unable to finish during difficult experiences.
What Somatic Therapy Helps With
- Trauma and PTSD
- Complex trauma and developmental trauma
- Chronic anxiety and panic
- Dissociation and feeling disconnected from your body
- Burnout, exhaustion, and chronic stress
- Chronic pain and tension
- Difficulty feeling safe in your body
What to Expect
Sessions are slow, attuned, and consent-based. You stay fully clothed; this is not bodywork. We track sensation, breath, and subtle shifts in your nervous system together. Aki Mori, LSW and Erin Schall, LSW incorporate somatic practices.
Healing happens in the body.
