Complex Trauma & C-PTSD Therapy in Boulder, CO

Complex trauma develops from repeated or prolonged harm — childhood abuse, emotional neglect, unstable caregivers, chronic invalidation, or relational trauma in adulthood. Our Boulder-based therapists provide integrative, pace-respecting care to help you heal at the root.

Signs of Complex Trauma (C-PTSD)

Persistent Shame & Self-Criticism

A loud inner critic and a sense that something is fundamentally wrong with you.

Relationship Patterns

Difficulty trusting, fear of abandonment, people-pleasing, or feeling unsafe with closeness.

Emotional Flooding or Numbness

Big emotions that feel uncontrollable, or feeling flat and disconnected from your feelings.

Dissociation & Parts

Feeling fragmented, like different versions of you take over depending on the situation.

Hypervigilance

Constantly scanning for danger, reading rooms, or anticipating others’ needs to stay safe.

Difficulty Knowing What You Want

After years of survival mode, your preferences, needs, and desires can feel blurry.

Our Approach to Complex Trauma

Healing complex trauma is rarely linear. We start with safety and stabilization — helping your nervous system feel grounded enough to do deeper work. From there, we integrate Internal Family Systems (IFS), EMDR, somatic therapy, attachment-based work, and DBT skills.

You set the pace. We never push you to share more than feels safe. Our goal is steady, sustainable healing — not catharsis.
