What Drew Me to Becoming a Therapist

Becoming a therapist was not a sudden decision. It was a calling I ignored for many years. I often told myself I was "too empathetic" for the work, not realizing that empathy, when paired with healthy boundaries and clinical training, is one of a therapist's greatest strengths. Throughout my career in technology, I naturally became the person colleagues sought out when they were navigating stress, conflict, or difficult life circumstances. Long before I became a trained therapist, I found myself drawn to helping people make sense of their experiences and reconnect with their strengths.

It was not until I began my own healing journey through trauma therapy, psychodrama, and parts work that I found my voice and reconnected with what had always been there. Those experiences deepened my belief that meaningful change happens when we feel safe enough to be fully seen, not judged, rushed, or expected to have it all figured out. Today, I bring together clinical training, real-world leadership experience, and a deep respect for the courage it takes to ask for help. My goal is to create a space where you can better understand yourself, strengthen your relationships, and move toward a life that feels more authentic and fulfilling.

What to Expect in Your First Session

In our first session, there is nothing you need to prepare. We'll spend time getting to know one another, exploring what has brought you to therapy, what you've already tried, and what you hope will be different. I'll ask questions to understand your history, strengths, relationships, and current challenges, and together we'll begin identifying goals that feel meaningful to you. My approach is collaborative, trauma-informed, and tailored to your unique experiences. Whether you're looking for practical strategies, deeper healing, or both, we'll build a plan together at a pace that feels safe and sustainable.
